SIPOC (Suppliers, Inputs, Process, Outputs, Customers) is a high-level process mapping tool used at the Define stage of Lean Six Sigma projects. It provides a clear end-to-end understanding of the process and ensures alignment on scope before diving into detailed analysis. This template helps teams identify key inputs affecting outputs and clarifies customer expectations. It is particularly useful in complex manufacturing or service processes where multiple stakeholders are involved.

Example: In a packaging line improvement project, SIPOC revealed that inconsistent raw material quality from suppliers was causing sealing defects. This shifted the project focus from internal process fixes to supplier quality improvement.
